Dr Frost is a general adult psychiatrist. She gained her medical qualifications from Flinders University in 1983 then came to Darwin in 1985-86, working at Royal Darwin Hospital. She then worked as an Obstetric Registrar and in General Practice in rural NSW and Canberra, gaining additional qualifications in Women’s Health. She returned to Adelaide to undertake psychiatry training in 1989 and qualified as a Specialist Psychiatrist in 1993, gaining Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) in 1994.

In 2001, Dr Frost returned to Darwin with her family and began part-time private practice, whilst also working in public psychiatry for Top End Mental Health Service, leaving in 2004 to commence full-time private practice. She has ongoing links with the public system through teaching and supervision of trainee Psychiatrists. As a Clinical Senior Lecturer in Psychiatry, Dr Frost also teaches medical students from Flinders University (NT Medical Programme) and previously she was a Clinical Lecturer in Psychiatry at Adelaide University.

As a member of the Forensic section of the Royal Australian New Zealand College of Psychiatrists and an active participant in the Australian New Zealand Association of Psychiatry, Psychology and the Law, Dr Frost has an interest in medico-legal psychiatry. She conducts Independent Medical Examinations for Insurers, Employers, Professional Authorities, the Department of Veterans’ Affairs, legal firms and the Courts.

Currently Dr Frost has limited capacity to undertake new patient referrals, but rarely may offer one-off assessments (Medicare Item 291), after receipt of a comprehensive GP referral and discussion with the referring GP.

All consults are billed in line with Australian Medical Association Schedule of Fees. There is no provision for bulk-billing.
